The Make Europe Great Again conference marks the first major, coordinated effort by Romanian and Western conservative networks to engage directly in the Republic of Moldova.
The simultaneous presence of former British MEP Geoffrey Van Orden, American conservative activist Brian Brown, and a significant delegation of MEPs from the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group signals a strategic shift in how conservative forces, both Romanian and international, approach the Moldovan question. This growing attention reflects an acknowledgment of Moldova’s rising geopolitical importance amidst a broader European shift toward conservative values.
Beyond East and West: A Conservative Vision for Moldova
Moldovan society must confront a fundamental choice: the vision advanced by Donald Trump versus the model promoted by George Soros. On one side stands the political philosophy of a re-elected U.S. President, grounded in national sovereignty, tradition, and conservative values. On the other, a globalist project shaped over the past three decades through a vast network of NGOs and foundations designed to impose a liberal-progressive agenda across borders.
Conservatives propose an alternative that transcends the traditional East–West dichotomy. They offer a third path for countries in this strategic “gray zone” between empires—an identity rooted not in submission to Moscow or Brussels, but in sovereignty, faith, family, and national dignity.
These two visions have clashed, and continue to clash, across the democratic world – in the United States during presidential elections, and across Europe in every national vote. Romania’s most recent presidential race reflected this same ideological divide. Now, the Trump World vs. Soros World debate comes to Chișinău, giving Moldovans – politicians, journalists, and citizens alike – a chance to see the deeper, more complex fault lines shaping modern Europe.
Justice for the Metropolis of Bessarabia
The Moldovan government must serve the people – not act as a passive executor of foreign agendas.
It is time for justice:
- All Romanian churches confiscated during the Soviet occupation must be returned without delay, and the administrative harassment of pro-Romanian clergy must end.
- Respect for national identity must be enshrined in law, starting with amending the Constitution to recognize the Romanian character of Moldova’s population.
This is not just a political imperative – it is a matter of historical justice and moral clarity.
